My dearest lovebug,
Yesterday, Dr. Stanley was preaching about getting back into reading the word of God daily and he suggested that a good way to do this is to pray before reading and ask that God guide us to a passage that He wants to use to speak to us and then open the word of God to one of the smaller books or the psalms or proverbs and just start reading from the beginning of that book. Well that’s what I did last night, I opened my bible and the first passage that I literally just flipped to was so powerful and so right on time in my life and was a scripture that I had previously been taught in bible study. I wanted to share it with you because it was right on time in my life with [redacted] and I felt compelled in my heart that it may be on time in your life with [redacted]. It may not be, but I had a strong conviction to share it with you.
The message that I wanted to share is one that just absolutely spoke to my heart! When life happens… the scripture is 2 Samuel 4:4 “Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel and his nurse took him up and fled. And it happened, as she made haste to flee, that he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.”…..
WOW what to do when the one you love and trust drops you?! Have you ever been injured at the hands of someone you trusted? …..as we have witnessed, I certainly have!
Let’s look into this scripture a little deeper and see what’s actually going on. Here we have Mephibosheth (a young prince, a person of royalty much like we who are children of the King) who was being cared for by a nurse, of whom he loved and trusted as his own mother. But when news of Saul and Jonathan came about, what happened?…the nurse became fearful and fled back to the place that she knew, the place that she was familiar with…Lodebar. Lodebar represents a place of gloom, dismay, sadness, etc… This was the place where the nurse was from, so she picked up Mephibosheth and fled back to this place with him, but along the way dropped him and caused him to become injured at his feet, in other words knocked him off of solid ground and knocked him off of the one thing that he was standing on…his strong place.
The question is who are we putting in charge of our hearts? Some of us have put our hearts in the hands of someone who has the tendency to trip or fall, or worse yet flee at the sign of difficulty back to the place that they know, which for many people is a place of gloom. You see that’s what the enemy does, he tries to attack us at the one thing that we stand on…our faith…and make you think that there is no way that you can stand back up and walk again, he hopes to keep you down long enough to carry you back to Lodebar! But the word tells us that you can and you must stand back up, because God has already laid out your spot at the anointed table to eat beside His deciples and even if you have to limp to that table you will get there, He tells us to not be weary but to stand up and mount up and limp our way to our blessed place, because hunnie I’m here to tell you that once you’re sitting at that anointed table no one will be able to tell the dropped from the angels, or the injured from the deciples! Even if you’ve been dropped, even if that nurse is picking you up to carry you back to Lodebar and it looks like there is no way out, our God tells us in Matthew 19:26 that with man this is impossible BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!! You see sometimes falling is part of God’s process of showing us how to get back up, the key is to not stay down, when life gets tough and it doesn’t go as you planned we have the tendency to go back to the familiar but the word says not to let people take you back to that place, because you have to make it through the process to get to the blessings and glorify God. And let me just tell you, that nurse may pick you up after she drops you but she’s picking you up only to carry you to the place where she wants you and then she will only drop you again! Our God also tells us that for every person that drops us or knocks us down He is going to send 10 more angels to build us back up, our world is not just and it is not fair but our God is, bad things happen to good people and that’s just life but our God promises that he that endureth shall be paid back 10 fold, likewise the wicked will reap what they sow they may drop you and get away with it for a minute but know that our God will give them back their evil 10 fold as well…and I don’t know about y’all but my God that is something to shout about and give glory unto our Lord Jesus Christ for that!!!
I hope y’all benefitted from that little lesson as much as I did because it truly filled me up from the very core of my body!
